Down with Oslo! Towards a new Generation of Liberation!
Tariq El-Tahrir youth and student network extends our congratulations and solidarity to Ajyal Al Tahrir on their inaugural conference on 19 September in Lebanon. Meaning “Generations of Liberation,” this network convenes Palestinian youth and students in the diaspora to assume their historic responsibility as leaders of the struggle for liberation and return. It also aims to support Palestinian students and young Palestinian workers in Lebanon, who are denied employment and education opportunities by the racist policies of the Lebanese state.
The conference comes at a critical time in the struggle for liberation, As the daily zionist massacres continue in Gaza, which has suffered some of the worst crimes ever to be carried out against human beings, and as settler attacks escalate, destroying Palestinian lands and beating elders and children, threatening a new Nakba against the West Bank. At the same time, we see the conditions of the Palestinian prisoners deteriorating continuously. We see the financial strangulation of Palestinians and the political siege imposed on their liberation organizations, carried out inside and outside of Palestine, which may act slower but are no less deadly than the genocidal military attacks. This is clearly demonstrated in the political, economic, social, and at times military siege imposed against the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.
At the same time, great advances have been won in the three years of operation Al Aqsa Flood. Among them are the utter military defeat of the US-Zionist axis at the hands of the Palestinian resistance, the resistance in Lebanon and Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Ansarallah movement in Yemen; the global popular rejection of zionism as a racist, genocidal ideology; and the launching of many great and effective new initiatives internationally serving as a support front and external arm of the Palestinian struggle.
Ajyal Al Tahrir is a shining example as it fills a role offered by no other initiative. The Palestinian refugee camps are the beating heart of the resistance and the youth are the blood that pumps new oxygen into our organizations. Organizing Palestinian refugee youth and students in Lebanon and supporting the advancement of their full civil, economic, and political rights is of the utmost importance.
We are delighted at the announcement of this new network and eager to coordinate our work as Palestinian, Arab, and internationalist youth and students on the path of liberation and return. We raise the highest salute to Ajyal Al Tahrir on your conference and the launch of a new path of struggle for Palestinian refugee youth and students in Lebanon.
