Free Georges Abdallah

40 Years in Prison: a Lifetime of Struggle

Who Is Georges Abdallah?

Georges Abdallah is a Lebanese revolutionary who has been held as a political prisoner in France for over 40 years. He has been eligible for release since 1999, but has been denied freedom repeatedly by Israeli, US and French interventions. In November 2024 Georges was ordered by a French court to be released to his home country of Lebanon. However, French prosecutors immediately moved to block his release and deny him justice by appealing his case, forcing him to remain in detention until the date of the ruling: June 19, 2025.

Georges Abdallah’s case is emblematic of the conditions of the prisoners movement for Palestine. While imperialist acts of aggression across the region continue unchecked — escalating the genocide in Gaza, continuing Zionist dispossession and violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, provoking a ground invasion in Lebanon, and delivering constant strikes against Yemen — those fighting for liberation are denied their rights to justice and freedom.

The Palestinian Prisoners Movement

The prisoners’ movement seeks to elevate the experiences and voices of political prisoners who are central to the cause of the liberation of Palestine and the end of US and European imperialism in the Arab region. The zionist entity deliberately targets Palestinians for administrative detention and imprisonment, whether they are leaders of the resistance, educators, cultural workers, or intellectuals. Centering the struggle of prisoners such as Georges Abdallah is to center the very subject of liberation itself.

Why We Are Here

June 19th is the day when the French court decides whether it will grant Georges Abdallah his just liberation. After 40 years, the prosecution continues to demand that Georges “compensate” the US for the elimination of a CIA agent and a mossad agent in Lebanon by the Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Faction in 1982. France continues to capitulate to the US’ ravenous desire to eliminate global resistance to its murderous imperialism by holding Georges in detention long past his release date and in spite of its own court rulings.

The moral masses of the world, those who stand with the liberation of Palestine and of all humanity, join today in solidarity with Georges Abdallah. Here and now we demand to be heard by the French consulate as we declare: Free Georges Abdallah!
