Statement on the Current Wave of Repression Facing the Palestine Movement in North America and Europe

The Palestinian diaspora, our organizations, and our internationalist comrades in struggle are facing unprecedented attacks and repression by Western states and Zionist fascist gangs. The Global Intifada which has erupted in the heart of the imperialist nations has posed a major threat to their systems of domination, hegemony, and oppression. The imperialist nations of Canada, Germany, the Zionist entity, and the chief perpetrator of imperialism and colonial violence around the world, the United States, have, since the heroic and historical Toufan al-Aqsa operation on October 7, 2023, targeted many Palestinian organizations, chiefly, the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network with criminalization and terror listings. National Students for Justice in Palestine along with American Muslims for Palestine are facing lawsuits and other vicious, political, and legal attacks. Palestinian, Arab, and internationalist students and activists who dare take a public, principled stance on Palestine face the revocation of visas and residency, and threats of deportation. Across North American and European countries, those who engage in any form of protest that poses a material threat to the imperialist, Zionist project face trumped-up legal charges, and several years in prison.

 Simultaneously, Imperialist states and Zionist gangs have begun using artificial intelligence to increase the level of doxxing and surveillance of Arabs, Palestinians, and the international pro-Palestine movement. AI generated articles, accusing individuals and academics of ‘terrorism’ and ‘terror-ties’ in retaliation for their public statements and support of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian resistance have provided “justification” for their employers and educational institutions to suspend or expel them. Finally, in Western countries, Zionist gangs have begun regularly attacking Arab and Muslim communities, gatherings, and holy places. 

While this all constitutes both a qualitative and quantitative escalation by the forces of imperialism against the Palestinian diaspora, none of these tactics are new to the Palestinian people. The criminalization of Palestinian organizations, which by extension criminalizes the Palestinian individual, forced deportations, revocation of residency, arbitrary arrests, imprisonment, and attacks by zionist gangs have long been the reality of our people within the borders of Palestine, the difference now is that the conditions imposed against our people in Palestine have begun to be imposed against us outside of Palestine. 

The Palestinian individual regardless of where he stands in the world, or what passport he holds is viewed in one of two lights: he is either a helpless and defenseless victim subjected to the whims of his oppressor with no agency for self-determination or, should he refuse to be a victim and assert his own agency, becomes a security risk and a threat to the established order.

 This increase in repression which we are facing is a direct result of the material impact this international movement has had on the imperialist states. As the Palestinian diaspora gradually reclaims its role in the Palestinian revolution, as the international movement in support of Palestine and the Palestinian resistance continues to grow in size, organization, and militancy we must be prepared for the repression to increase in kind.

 We condemn in the harshest words each of these instances and systems of repression, but we also call on all organizations, institutions, activists, academics, workers, and youth to take up their role in the struggle. We must understand that every Palestinian in the diaspora or the Homeland is an equal holder in the struggle, and as such must be prepared to make equal sacrifices in the struggle from Jenin, Nazareth, and Gaza to Berlin, Paris, and New York.  We must learn from the Palestinian and regional resistance who, in the face of oppression, siege, and assault from all sides, do not back down or aqueous to the enemy but rather continue on the path of liberation. Our only response to the repression we are facing can only be to hit back more organized, more militant, and more determined.
